Saurabh Prabhakar is a litigation counsel and a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation Group. His practice includes trade secrets, patents, antitrust, copyright matters in a wide array of technology areas, including semiconductor design and manufacturing, cloud computing, automotive, consumer electronics, software design and architecture, telecommunications and networking, medical robotics and devices, and web 2.0. He is an experienced software developer with extensive work experience in the Electronic Design Automation industry.
Mr. Prabhakar joined Debevoise in 2023. Mr. Prabhakar received a J.D. from The George Washington University Law School with high honors and Order of the Coif. Mr. Prabhakar was a member of the George Washington Law Review, the Moot Court Board, and a Legal Research and Writing Fellow. During law school, Mr. Prabhakar was a legal extern for the Hon. Randall R. Rader, Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Mr. Prabhakar won the Giles Rich IP Moot Court competition twice, and also received the Marcus B. Finnegan Prize for the best publishable article in IP Law, and Outstanding Article Award from the ITC Trial Lawyers Association Section 337 Reporter. He received a Bachelor of Engineering, First Class Distinction, from Birla Institute of Technology, India. Mr. Prabhakar is the author of “Need for Robust Economic Analysis in Competition Commission of India’s Cartel Enforcement,”

Mr. Prabhakar maintains an active pro bono practice. He has secured the exoneration of a young man who had been wrongfully incarcerated for 12 years in a Habeas proceeding, won restraining orders under California’s Domestic Violence Prevent Act for domestic violence victims, successfully challenged the U.S. Department of State’s revocation of an American citizen’s passport, and successfully defended low-income tenants in eviction proceedings.
Mr. Prabhakar is a member of the Bars of California and District of Columbia and is admitted to practice in the Ninth Circuit, N.D. Cal., and C.D. Cal. He is fluent in Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu.
