Zhiqi Wu is an international associate based in Shanghai. Ms. Wu’s practice focuses on white collar and regulatory investigations and advice. Ms. Wu has extensive experience in conducting risk assessment and compliance due diligence, reviewing and formulating compliance policies under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and trade sanctions, as well as post-acquisition investigations and remediation concerning compliance programs and operational controls. Ms. Wu has also worked on a broad range of cross-border private equity and M&A transactions in the Asia-Pacific region.

Prior to joining Debevoise, Ms. Wu was a member of a leading U.S. private equity firm’s Legal & Compliance team, responsible for post-acquisition compliance integration, remediation and periodic compliance review for this portfolio companies, as well as pre-acquisition risk assessments and compliance due diligence. During law school, Ms. Wu served as a summer intern for the Hon. William V. Alternberger in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois.

Ms. Wu received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2016 and a Bachelor of Laws degree from Sichuan University in 2013. Ms. Wu is admitted to the Illinois Bar, and passed the PRC National Judicial Examination in 2023.

Ms. Wu’s native language is Mandarin and she is fluent in English.
