Steven Tegrar is an associate in the Litigation Department. His practice focuses on white collar defense, regulatory enforcement actions, and internal investigations. Mr. Tegrar also maintains a commercial litigation practice in addition to an active pro bono practice, which involves representing indigent clients in federal criminal court.

Mr. Tegrar joined Debevoise in 2018. From 2021 to 2022, he clerked for the Hon. Michael A. Shipp of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. He received his J.D. summa cum laude from Rutgers Law School in 2018. While at Rutgers, he was selected to the Order of the Coif, was a Saul Tischler and A. Harry Moore Scholar (Valedictorian), was a recipient of the Myron Harkavy Trial Prize and Alumni Senior Prize, and was co-chair of the Rutgers Moot Court Board. Mr. Tegrar received his B.A. cum laude from the University of Maryland in 2015.

Mr. Tegrar is a member of the Bar of the State of New York and the State of New Jersey. He is admitted to appear before the Southern District of New York, the Eastern District of New York, the Northern District of New York, and the United States Courts of Appeals for the Second, Fourth, and Sixth Circuits.
