Debevoise & Plimpton LLP has completed its independent review of the police-involved shooting deaths of Danroy “DJ” Henry, Jr. and Kenneth Chamberlain, Sr. on behalf of the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office, which the firm conducted on a pro bono basis. The review, led by litigation partners John Gleeson and Douglas Zolkind, began in June 2021 and involved a team of Debevoise lawyers who were appointed Special Assistant District Attorneys in order to examine the two cases and offer advice and recommendations to District Attorney Miriam E. Rocah.
The cases relate to the deaths of Mr. Henry, a 20-year-old Pace University student who was killed when a police officer shot at him in his moving vehicle, and Mr. Chamberlain, a 68-year-old former Marine who was shot and killed in his home after officers responded to a medical alert that he had accidentally triggered. For more information, please see the District Attorney’s statement here.
The Debevoise team also included litigation associates Adrianna Finger, Katherine Stein, and Rachel Tennell, and former associate Jacob Apkon.
