Mengyi Xu is an associate in the Litigation Department and a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US). As a member of the firm’s interdisciplinary Data Strategy & Security practice, she helps clients navigate complex data-driven challenges, including issues related to cybersecurity, data privacy, and data and AI governance. Ms. Xu’s cybersecurity and data privacy practice focuses on incident preparation and response, regulatory compliance, and risk management.

Ms. Xu joined Debevoise in 2020. Prior to that, she worked at another leading international law firm. In 2017, Ms. Xu served as a Dean Acheson Legal Stagiaire at the Court of Justice of the European Union (Mme le Juge O. Spineanu-Matei). She received her J.D. from Stanford Law School, where she served as the editor-in-chief of the Stanford Law & Policy Review. She received her A.B. from Princeton University in 2014.
