Jillian Trezza is a litigation associate in the firm’s White Collar & Regulatory Defense Group. Her practice focuses on securities-related enforcement defense, DOJ investigations, SEC and FINRA examinations and internal investigations, and her clients include individuals, private firms and public companies. She also has experience representing corporate clients in shareholder derivative litigation.
Ms. Trezza maintains an active pro bono practice, in which she has submitted briefs on behalf of amicus curiae for such clients as The Center for Educational Equity at Teacher’s College of Columbia University and The Campaign for the Civic Mission of Schools in litigations related to the role of civic education in schools. Recently, she partnered with Protect Democracy and the Brennan Center for Justice to draft anticipatory civil litigation in connection with the November 2020 Presidential elections.
Ms. Trezza joined Debevoise in 2018. From 2017–2018 she clerked for the Hon. Ann Donnelly of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. From 2013 to 2017, Ms. Trezza was a litigation associate with a major international law firm. Ms. Trezza received a J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law in 2013, where she was the development editor for The Review of Litigation. She received an M.A. from The University of Texas at El Paso in 2008 and a B.S. from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2005. Ms. Trezza served as an officer in the United States Army from 2005 to 2010.
Ms. Trezza is the author of “Army Lessons for Lawyer-Leaders,” The Review of Litigation, Vol. 32, No. 2 (Spring 2013).
Ms. Trezza is a member of the New York State and District of Columbia bars.
