Hugo Farmer is an associate in the firm’s International Dispute Resolution Group based in London and a member of the firm’s Special Situations Group. His practice focuses on complex commercial disputes.

Mr. Farmer has experience working on a broad range of contentious matters across a variety of jurisdictions and industries. Mr. Farmer’s experience includes representing clients in cross-border litigation, contentious restructurings, bankruptcy and insolvency litigation, commercial arbitration, and regulatory investigations.

Mr. Farmer is recommended for commercial litigation by The Legal 500 UK (2024), where he is said to “drive solutions that work,” and where clients have described him as “an excellent associate, commercial in his advice, thorough in his work.”

Mr. Farmer joined Debevoise in 2018, prior to which he practised at a magic circle law firm in London and a leading law firm in New Zealand. Mr. Farmer is admitted as a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England & Wales and is also admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand.
