Emilie Hsu is a member of the Corporate Department and focuses her practice on derivatives and structured finance transactions. She represents a wide variety of market participants, including financial institutions, insurance companies, end users and investment funds. Since 1998, she has handled all aspects of structuring, documenting and negotiating various derivatives and other structured financial products, with an emphasis on financing for private equity funds, equity derivatives, fund-linked structured products, insurance-related derivatives instruments and hedging transactions for end users involving interest rates, currencies and commodities. In addition, she has extensive experience with Dodd-Frank Act regulatory issues relating to the derivatives industry.

Ms. Hsu first joined the firm in 1998. From 2001 to 2002, she was an associate in the Equity Derivatives Department of Morgan Stanley. In 2004, she was on secondment at a hedge fund management firm. Ms. Hsu graduated in 1997 with a J.D. and a Parker School Certificate in International Law with honors from Columbia Law School, where she was a Stone Scholar and the managing editor of the Columbia Journal of Asian Law.

Ms. Hsu received her B.A. in Philosophy and Religion from Columbia College in 1994 summa cum laude, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and was class salutatorian.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Hsu worked as an associate at a prominent New York law firm.

Ms. Hsu is listed in Who's Who in America and is a member of the Bar of New York. She is fluent in French and Chinese.
