Elizabeth Costello is an associate in the Litigation Department. Her practice focuses primarily on white collar criminal defense, regulatory enforcement actions, internal investigations, and complex civil litigation. Ms. Costello also has experience advising clients responding to cybersecurity incidents and handling related internal investigations and regulatory defense. 

Ms. Costello also maintains an active pro bono practice representing indigent criminal defendants, including through the firm’s Holloway Project.

Ms. Costello is a member of the Bars of California and New York and is admitted to appear before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the Northern and Central Districts of California, and the Central District of Illinois, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. 

Ms. Costello joined Debevoise in 2017. Ms. Costello received a J.D. from Stanford Law School in 2017, where she was a managing editor of the Stanford Law and Policy Review. She received her B.A. with High Distinction from the University of California, Berkeley in 2011.
