David Hickok is a retired corporate partner at Debevoise and was a member of the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity Groups. Mr. Hickok participated in numerous cross-border acquisitions on behalf of private equity houses and other clients. He also had extensive experience in structuring and implementing complex cross-border financings, including such transactions as the $2.9 billion equivalent amount multi-borrower international credit facility for the acquisition of The Hertz Corporation by Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, Carlyle and Merrill Lynch Private Equity.

Mr. Hickok joined Debevoise in 1984 and became a partner in 1995. He was based in the firm’s Frankfurt, Paris, New York and London offices. Mr. Hickok graduated from Princeton University magna cum laude in 1981 and New York University School of Law in 1984. He was a member of the New York and Paris bars. Mr. Hickok is fluent in German, English and French and speaks Hungarian.

Mr. Hickok has been a trustee of Quaker Social Action, a Quaker charity devoted to improving the lives of immigrant populations in London's East End, since 2009, and is treasurer and trustee of North West London Quakers. ‎He recently created a financial assistance fund for Syrian students at the Brummana Quaker school in Lebanon adversely affected by the civil war in Syria. Mr. Hickok is also studying Talmud at Alyth Gardens synagogue.‎
