Benjamin Teo is a litigation associate and a member of the firm’s International Dispute Resolution Group. His practice focuses on international arbitration and complex cross-border disputes.
Mr. Teo first joined Debevoise in 2017 as a trainee solicitor and completed his training in the London and Hong Kong offices. From 2022 to 2024, he worked at a leading international arbitration practice in Singapore.
Mr. Teo has significant experience in both commercial and investor-state arbitrations representing clients from a wide range of industries, including banking and finance, energy, aviation, pharmaceuticals, private equity and infrastructure. He has particular experience in commercial disputes concerning joint ventures, private equity funds, M&A issues, supply and distribution, fraud, and investment protections. He has advised on arbitrations under all leading arbitration rules in key arbitral seats, including Hong Kong, Singapore and London. His arbitrations often involve parallel proceedings in courts.
Mr. Teo graduated with a B.A. from the University of Oxford in 2016.
Mr. Teo was admitted as a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England & Wales in 2019 and as a Solicitor of the High Court of the Hong Kong SAR in 2021. He speaks English and Mandarin.
