Anu Chugh is an associate in the Litigation Department.

Ms. Chugh joined Debevoise in 2022. From 2023 to 2024, she clerked for the Hon. Denise Cote, United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Ms. Chugh received her J.D. from Columbia Law School in 2022, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. At Columbia, Ms. Chugh was the President of the South Asian Law Students Association and a member of the Columbia Law School Anti-Racism Steering and Coordinating Committees. Ms. Chugh was also a notes editor of the Columbia Human Rights Law Review and a coach of Columbia’s Frederick Douglass Moot Court. She received a B.A. summa cum laude from Rutgers University in 2019.

Ms. Chugh is the author of Risk Assessment Tools: An Algorithmic Solution to the Due Process Problem in Immigration, COLUM. HUMAN RIGHTS L. REV. ONLINE  (2022); co-author of Courtroom Workgroups: A Prosecutor, a Defense Attorney, and a Judge Walk into a Bar in OXFORD HANDBOOKS OF PROSECUTORS AND PROSECUTION (2021); and co-author of In the Eyes of the Law: The Effects of Body-Worn Cameras on Police Behavior, Citizen Interactions, and Privacy, 54 CRIM.
