Amina Afifi is an associate based in London and a member of the International Dispute Resolution Group.

Ms. Afifi’s practice focuses on international arbitration and public international law. She has represented private clients and States across multiple jurisdictions in investor-State and international commercial arbitrations governed by various common and civil laws (notably in the Middle East), and under the auspices of the ICC, LCIA, UNCITRAL and CRCICA. She has experience across a number of industries, including construction, energy, intellectual property and financial services.

Ms. Afifi is a co-author of “Disputes across the horizon: arbitration in Qatar,” Practical Law Construction Blog (February, 2021) and “Disputes across the horizon: arbitration in the United Arab Emirates,” Practical Law Construction Blog (January, 2021).

Ms. Afifi joined Debevoise in 2019, prior to which she worked at leading international and boutique law firms in Cairo, Egypt. Ms. Afifi holds an LL.B. from the University of Sussex and an LL.M. from the University of Edinburgh.

Ms. Afifi is admitted to practise in Egypt and is a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England & Wales. She is a native Arabic speaker.
