Debevoise & Plimpton LLP announces that Shreya Aren, Brandon Fetzer, Robert Hubley, Sam Krawiecz, Andrew Lee, Alexandra Mogul, Iryna Nikolaieva, Iris Pan, Michael Ronca, Matthew Sorensen, Jillian Trezza, Mathieu Voos, Wendy Widman and Guang Yang have been named counsel to the firm. Their promotions became effective on January 1.
Shreya Aren is based in the London office and a member of the International Dispute Resolution Group. Her practice focuses on international commercial and investment treaty arbitration as well as arbitration-related litigation. Ms. Aren graduated with a B.A., LL.B. (honours) degree from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore in 2012. She is admitted as a solicitor-advocate in England & Wales and as an advocate in India.
Brandon Fetzer is based in the New York office and a member of the Commercial Litigation Group. His practice focuses on securities and shareholder disputes, consumer class actions and complex commercial disputes. From 2015 to 2016, he clerked for the Hon. Amalya L. Kearse of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and from 2016 to 2017, for the Hon. Kenneth M. Karas of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Mr. Fetzer received his J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School in 2014 and his B.A. summa cum laude from Canisius College in 2012.
Robert Hubley is based in the New York office and a member of the Investment Management Group. His practice focuses on advising sponsors on the structuring and establishment of global and geographically specific private alternative investment products including private equity and infrastructure focused funds, as well as bespoke separately managed accounts, strategic partnerships and co-investment structures. Mr. Hubley received his J.D. cum laude from Fordham University School of Law in 2015 and his B.A. from Haverford College in 2012.
Sam Krawiecz is based in the New York office and a member of the Tax Group. His practice focuses on the tax aspects of private equity and strategic M&A transactions, private equity fund formation, and continuation funds and related matters. Mr. Krawiecz received his J.D. from Harvard Law School magna cum laude in 2015 and his Bachelor of Talmudic Studies from Beth Medrash Govoha in 2010.
Andrew Lee is based in the London office and a member of the White Collar & Regulatory Defense Group. His practice focuses on regulatory, criminal and internal investigations for financial institutions and corporate clients, particularly in relation to bribery, money laundering, fraud and other financial crime issues. In 2010, Mr. Lee clerked for the Hon. Justice Rein in the Supreme Court of New South Wales. He received his Bachelor of Laws (Hons I) and Bachelor of Engineering (Hons I) degrees from the University of Sydney in 2009 and 2007, respectively. Mr. Lee is admitted as a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England & Wales and as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales.
Alexandra Mogul is based in the New York office and a member of the Banking and Financial Institutions Groups. Her practice focuses on a broad range of bank and consumer financial protection regulatory, policy and transactional matters, including compliance programs and risk governance, strategic initiatives, and regulatory examinations and enforcement. Ms. Mogul received her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law cum laude in 2016 and her B.A. from the University of Maryland in 2010.
Iryna Nikolaieva is based in the New York office and a member of the Aviation Practice Group. Her practice focuses on a wide range of domestic and international financing projects including corporate financing and aircraft financing. Ms. Nikolaieva received her LL.M. from Cornell Law School in 2000 and her J.D. with honors in 1996 from Zaporozhye State University (Ukraine).
Iris Pan is based in the New York office and is a member of the Investment Management Group. Her practice focuses on advising sponsors of private investment funds, co-investment vehicles and separately managed accounts, covering numerous sectors and strategies including buyout, credit and debt funds. Ms. Pan received her J.D. from Columbia Law School in 2015, where she was a James Kent Scholar, and her B.A. magna cum laude from Mount Holyoke College in 2012.
Michael Ronca is based in the New York office and a member of the Investment Management Group. His practice focuses on advising sponsors of private investment funds, co-investment vehicles and separately managed accounts across numerous sectors and strategies including buyout, credit, distressed debt, growth and fund of funds. Mr. Ronca received his J.D. from Stanford Law School in 2016, his M.B.A. from Fordham University in 2012 and his B.S. cum laude from Fordham University in 2010.
Matthew Sorensen is based in the New York office and a member of the Commercial Litigation Group. His practice focuses on bankruptcy and restructuring litigation, as well as high stakes complex litigation for clients in various industries including asset management, insurance and technology. From 2016 to 2017, he clerked for the Hon. Denny Chin of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Mr. Sorensen received his J.D. magna cum laude from Fordham University School of Law in 2015 and his A.B. with honors from the University of Chicago in 2006.
Jillian Trezza is based in the Washington, D.C. office and a member of the White Collar & Regulatory Defense Group. Her practice focuses on securities-related enforcement defense, DOJ investigations, SEC and FINRA examinations and internal investigations, and representing corporate clients in shareholder derivative litigation. From 2017 to 2018, Ms. Trezza clerked for the Hon. Ann Donnelly of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. She received her J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law in 2013, her M.A. from The University of Texas at El Paso in 2008 and her B.S. from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2005. She is admitted to the District of Columbia Bar and New York Bar.
Mathieu Voos is based in the Luxembourg office and a member of the Investment Management Group. His practice focusses on the structuring, setting-up, registration, administration and liquidation of all types of regulated and unregulated funds, with a particular focus on alternative investment structures and private equity. He received his law degree from the Luxembourg Ministry of Justice in 2014, his Master of Law Degree from the Catholic University of Louvain in 2013, and his License of Law Degree from University of Namur in 2011.
Wendy Widman is based in the New York office and a member of the Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Group. Her practice focuses on advising on the employee benefits aspects of M&A transactions and in structuring and implementing equity compensation plans and employment agreements. Ms. Widman received her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 2014, her M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 2014, and her A.B. cum laude from Harvard College in 2006.
Guang Yang is based in the Hong Kong office and a member of the Investment Management Group. His practice focuses on advising sponsors of private equity funds, co-investment vehicles and separately managed accounts, covering numerous sectors and strategies including buyout, venture capital, real estate and fund of funds, as well as secondary transactions including traditional acquisitions and dispositions of fund interests and fund restructurings. Mr. Yang received his J.D. from Columbia Law School in 2016, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, his M.T.S. from Harvard University in 2013 and his B.A. from Peking University in 2011. He is admitted to the New York Bar.
