Debevoise & Plimpton LLP has advised Bain Capital on its investment in Oak Reinsurance (“Oak RE”), and on its cornerstone investment in Oak RE’s Lloyd’s Syndicate 2843, which will focus on global reinsurance.

The syndicate has gained permission to underwrite business from January 1, 2025.

The Debevoise team advising Bain Capital was led by partner Geoffrey Burgess and international consultant Clare Swirski, and included associates Bethania Berhane and Edoardo Troina, and professional support lawyer Philip Orange. Tax advice was provided by partner Richard Ward and associate Christopher Gossage. Employment advice was provided by international counsel Sam Whitaker.
