Debevoise & Plimpton LLP intellectual property litigation partners David Bernstein, Jay Neukom and Megan Bannigan have been recognized by Managing IP’s 2024 “IP Stars” lists. The IP Stars lists rank senior practitioners who are leaders in intellectual property, taking into account expertise, workload, and outcomes achieved for clients.
Mr. Neukom was recognized as a 2024 Patent Star in California and nationally for his extensive experience advising major Bay Area and multinational companies on complex business and intellectual property disputes, including patent and copyright infringement and trade secret misappropriation matters. Among his numerous achievements, Mr. Neukom recently secured a victory in a patent litigation case before the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit on behalf of GAF Materials LLC against Kirsch Research and Development, marking the end of a multi-year, multi-venue, multi-patent and multi-defendant campaign.
Additionally, Mr. Bernstein and Ms. Bannigan were named 2024 Trademark Stars in New York and nationally for their deep experience on trademark, trade dress, copyright and other disputes across a broad range of client industries. Among Debevoise’s recent trademark victories are their complete trial win in Houston on behalf of Casa Azul Spirits against Casa Tradicion, the maker of Clase Azul tequila, and their appellate victory for Grubhub in the 7th Circuit against Kroger over the parties’ respective logos.
Managing IP also named Ms. Bannigan to its “Top 250 Women in IP” list, which recognizes female IP practitioners who performed exceptionally for their clients and firms in the past year. This is Ms. Bannigan’s third consecutive year being named to the “Top Women in IP” list.
