Debevoise & Plimpton LLP hosted its third annual bank regulatory and diversity summer training program, an eight-day, virtual training that offers summer interns from major banks a supplement to their financial institution internship experience, in July 2021. This year’s program had more than fifty interns from Debevoise bank clients including American Express, Bank of New York Mellon, Citizens Bank, Credit Suisse, Morgan Stanley, Northern Trust, Santander Bank, Scotiabank, and Société Générale. The program included skills training sessions on a range of topics, including:
- a U.S. bank regulatory introduction and overview
- diversity as an asset in the workplace
- the regulation and legal considerations of the cannabis industry
- anti-money laundering sanctions
- the Dodd-Frank Act
- the Volcker Rule
- bank mergers & acquisitions
Lawyers from the firm’s Banking and White Collar & Regulatory Defense groups, including partners Gregory Lyons, Arian June, Satish Kini and Jeffrey Robins and counsel Will Giles and Alison Hashmall lead the training sessions.
