Debevoise & Plimpton LLP International Counsel Alexandre Bisch has provided insight to a current review by the French National Assembly into the Sapin II Law, the country’s wide-reaching anti-corruption regulation.
The review, set up by the French National Assembly, is being led by MPs Raphaël Gauvain and Olivier Marleix. It is hearing from a wide range of experts – including government officials, academics, NGOs and private practitioners – and is expected to produce an in-depth report on the current regulation with potential avenues for improvement.
Mr. Bisch was heard on March 4, 2021, to provide his thoughts about the landscape of white-collar criminal enforcement, including the French-style deferred prosecution agreement (CJIP) and the question of self-reporting to French authorities
