In honor of International Women’s Day, on March 8, 2021, Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, along with the Debevoise Women’s Review and Avocate, the legal women’s mentoring network, hosted an online panel discussion on “The Impact of the Pandemic on Women”. Moderated by intellectual property partner Megan Bannigan, the panel included Adrienne Belyea Prentice, Founder, MotherNation and two Debevoise alumnae:
- Erica Davila, General Counsel, ZocDoc
- Poonam Kumar, Assistant United States Attorney, Deputy Chief, Major Frauds Section, United States Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California
Panelists at the event discussed how the COVID-19 pandemic has disproportionately placed a burden on the lives and livelihoods of women, consequences which are likely to continue after the vaccines have been rolled out, and some of the ways to counter the pandemic’s toll on women.
