Debevoise & Plimpton LLP has advised on four matters to have been honored by the Private Equity International Awards, 2020, including all three deals named in the “Secondaries Deal of the Year in Europe” category, and the winner of the “Fundraise of the Year in Asia” category.
Debevoise advised HarbourVest Partners and Pantheon as investors in 3i’s GP-led single asset fund restructuring involving Action, which won “Secondaries Deal of the Year in Europe”. It’s the second year in a row Debevoise has advised on a winning European secondaries “Deal of the Year”. The firm advised AlpInvest Partners, Goldman Sachs Asset Management and HarbourVest Partners as lead investors in last year’s winner of the “GP-led Deal of the Year in Europe” category, the PAI Partners-sponsored €2 billion continuation vehicle for Froneri and Marcolin.
The firm also advised on KKR’s $3.9 billion Asia Pacific infrastructure fund, which won “Fundraise of the Year in Asia”.
Debevoise also advised in the other two deals named in the “Secondaries Deal of the Year in Europe” section of this year’s awards. Second place in the category went to a matter in which the firm advised Ardian and Pantheon as co-lead investors in a €1.2 billion annex fund, sponsored by Antin Infrastructure Partners, to buy minority stakes in four assets held by Antin’s 2016-vintage Fund III. Third place was given to a deal in which Debevoise advised Pantheon and LGT Capital Partners as lead investors in a continuation vehicle sponsored by Medicxi, a European life sciences investor, involving six preclinical- and clinical-stage assets.
