Debevoise & Plimpton LLP counsel Floriane Lavaud has been named by the Euromoney Legal Media Group as a 2020 “Rising Star.” The annual Rising Star awards recognize the most promising lawyers in the region. According to Euromoney, “Winners are selected based on their professional accomplishments, advocacy and influence within their specialism, as well as a peer review and referee commentary.”
Ms. Lavaud’s practice focuses on international arbitration, public international law and enforcement-related litigation. She has advised multinational corporations and sovereign States in a variety of jurisdictions and fora on issues of civil and common law, public international law, and treaty and contract interpretation, with a focus on the Middle East. In addition to her work as counsel, Ms. Lavaud currently serves as an arbitrator including on the Qatar Sports Arbitration Tribunal. Ms. Lavaud is admitted to the New York and the Paris Bars, in addition to being a Solicitor in England & Wales.
As a result of her counsel and thought leadership, Ms. Lavaud has been nominated for five consecutive years as a Future Leader in Arbitration by Who’s Who Legal, an edition focused on a selection of outstanding attorneys aged 45 or under, and was recognized in the “Most Highly Regarded” section of the “Future Leaders” list.
