Debevoise & Plimpton LLP partner David O’Neil has been selected as a finalist for the prestigious Litigator of the Year award by The American Lawyer. The recognition reflects Mr. O’Neil’s extraordinary work in the Supreme Court, Congress, and district courts around the country on the highest profile matters at the forefront of law and public policy.
This accolade comes on the heels of Mr. O’Neil’s recognition as a “Washington, D.C. Trailblazer” earlier this year and twice before as a “Litigation Trailblazer” by The National Law Journal, as well as a “White Collar MVP” by Law360.
“We are proud that The American Lawyer has recognized what has been clear to us since Dave joined us from the Department of Justice,” said Michael Blair, Debevoise’s Presiding Partner. “He is an exceptional litigator who has been a leading force on some of the most consequential issues of the day. Dave’s market-leading efforts have helped our clients succeed and advanced legal principles of central importance to the Nation.”
Mr. O’Neil is a member of Debevoise’s award-winning White Collar & Regulatory Defense Group, which is ranked Band 1 by Chambers on both sides of the Atlantic for its complex representations of clients facing litigation and public policy crises. The Group, which has been involved in some of the most significant investigations and resolutions over the past few years, has a depth of experience and global reach that allows for effective and strategic counsel with international and domestic clients, from defending against criminal prosecutions and civil enforcement actions, to conducting internal investigations, negotiating complex global settlements and facilitating cooperation with government regulators.
