Debevoise & Plimpton LLP announced today that Daniel Sinrod has returned to the firm’s New York office as a counsel and member of the firm’s Investment Management, Real Estate and Private Equity Groups. A former Debevoise associate, Mr. Sinrod rejoins the firm after nine years at Tishman Speyer, a leading real estate and investment firm and long-standing client of Debevoise, where he served as Senior Director and Associate Counsel.
Mr. Sinrod brings to the firm extensive experience in private equity fund formation, with a specialty in real asset funds. His practice will focus on advising established and emerging sponsors on all aspects of real estate funds and other private investment funds, including fund formation and ongoing fund and management company operations.
“While real estate funds work has always been a significant aspect of the firm’s private equity practice, both on the sponsor and investor sides, we have recently seen especially strong growth in this specialized area,” said Rebecca Silberstein, Co-Chair of the firm’s Private Equity Group.
Nicole Levin Mesard, partner in the firm’s Real Estate Group and Deputy Chair of the Corporate Department, added, “Daniel’s considerable experience at one of the world’s leading real estate investment firms will help us expand our capabilities in the real asset space and our ability to meet the growing needs of our clients. We welcome him back to the firm.”
Mr. Sinrod is the latest of several new senior lawyers to join Debevoise’s growing Investment Management Group in recent months. John Anderson, a funds lawyer specializing in credit fund strategies, rejoined the firm’s London team in June of this year as an international counsel. Also in June, Christopher Dortschy joined as a partner in Debevoise & Plimpton Luxembourg S.à r.l. and international counsel of Debevoise & Plimpton LLP to lead the firm’s newly opened Luxembourg office.
Debevoise is a recognized leader in the private funds industry, having advised sponsors of, or investors in, more than 2,800 private investment funds with committed capital of well over $3 trillion. Guided by a driving commitment to client service, the firm’s Investment Management Group advises a global roster of fund sponsors and institutional investors across all major investment strategies, covering organization and economic arrangements for sponsors, fund formation, downstream transactions, exits, firm and fund restructurings, investor-side work, secondaries and wind downs. The team’s collaborative approach engages the firm’s entire range of talent and capabilities, creating a significant competitive advantage in anticipating and responding to market forces.
