Debevoise & Plimpton LLP has been named winner in the France category of the ninth annual Euromoney Legal Media Group Women in Business Law Europe Awards.
The awards honour firms that have produced initiatives and programmes to support and encourage women and diversity within the industry. Winners are decided by senior Euromoney Legal Media Group editorial staff following an extensive research process.
The winning firms have all developed strong innovative practices and projects that highlight gender diversity.
Debevoise’s win in the France category of the 2020 awards adds to the firm’s previous success in the “North America: US Northeast” category.
Debevoise has long been committed to attracting, retaining and promoting a diverse population of lawyers. The firm has developed mentoring, training and staffing programs to support the retention and promotion of diverse lawyers, increase lawyer engagement, and foster talent development.
The result is an earned reputation for the strength of the firm’s women lawyers, and the collaborative firm culture and flexible policies that have made possible the development of several generations of women leaders. Since 2008, 41% of Debevoise lawyers promoted to partner have been women.
