Debevoise & Plimpton LLP partner Ina Popova has been named a 2020 Rising Star by the New York Law Journal. The annual Rising Star awards recognize the most promising lawyers in the region under the age of 40. Honorees are selected by an outside panel of distinguished attorneys, who review hundreds of nominations each year to identify lawyers with exceptional records of accomplishments and “influence in their practice areas in New York and beyond.”
Ms. Popova is admitted to practice in New York and Paris, and she is a member of the firm’s International Dispute Resolution Group. Her practice principally focuses on international arbitration, international litigation and public international law, and in recent years, she has helped to secure landmark victories for a number of key firm clients involved in a wide range of industries and sectors.
In addition to her work as counsel, Ms. Popova currently serves in leadership positions within several leading legal organizations, including as a member of the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Court of the Casablanca International Mediation and Arbitration Center (CIMAC), and as Chair of the Corporate Counsel Task Force of the Silicon Valley Arbitration & Mediation Center (SVAMC).
As a result of her counsel work and thought leadership, Ms. Popova has been repeatedly recognized as a leader in her field by all of the legal benchmark publications, including Chambers, The Legal 500, and Who’s Who Legal. Additionally, in recent years, she has been named one of the top 40 up-and-coming lawyers nationwide by the American Bar Association, as a “Rising Star” by Law360, as a “Future Star” and a member of the “Under 40 Hot List” by Benchmark Litigation, and as “Best in Commercial Arbitration” by Euromoney Americas Rising Stars.
