Debevoise & Plimpton LLP has provided antitrust and competition advice to Perform, the global sports content company, in its combination with STATS, the revolutionary leader in sports AI.
The combination creates a global sports technology platform capable of improving sports team performance and player evaluation, as well as providing insights for broadcasters and sportsbooks.
The transaction was enabled by an investment from Vista Equity Partners (“Vista”), a leading investment firm focused on enterprise software, data, and technology-enabled businesses. DAZN Group, Perform’s owner, will receive a combination of cash and a significant minority stake in the newly formed company.
The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2019 and is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
The Debevoise team providing competition and antitrust advice to Perform was led by international counsel Timothy McIver, and included partner Daniel M. Abuhoff, counsel Kyra K. Bromley, and associate Anne-Mette Heemsoth.
