Debevoise & Plimpton LLP conducted the internal investigation on behalf of Mobile Telesystems PJSC (“MTS”) that was referenced as part of the Company’s cooperation in its Deferred Prosecution Agreement (“DPA”) with the U.S. Department of Justice (“DOJ”). The Company agreed today to a DPA, along with a settlement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”).
Debevoise performed its work under the auspices of the MTS Audit Committee. The investigation concerned MTS’s historical activities in Uzbekistan that are discussed in the settlement documents.
