Debevoise & Plimpton LLP today announced that Jeffrey L. Robins, a leading broker-dealer and derivatives regulatory lawyer, has joined the firm’s Corporate Department as a partner and member of the Banking Group. Mr. Robins’ practice will focus on representing broker-dealers, swap dealers, banks, securities exchanges, industry associations and buy-side institutions in regulatory and transactional matters. He will be resident in the firm’s New York office.

Mr. Robins has built a reputation as a leader in the broker-dealer and derivatives space. He is adept at helping clients navigate regulatory classification issues, margin rules, cross-border issues, and the intricacies of swap transactions.

Mr. Robins received his J.D. magna cum laude from Harvard Law School and earned an M.A. in Russian and East European Studies and a B.A. with distinction from Stanford University. He also served as a clerk for the Honorable Cynthia Holcomb Hall of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
