Debevoise & Plimpton LLP is advising Ambev S.A. (Ambev) in the acquisition of a 30% interest in Cervecería Nacional Dominicana S.A., the leading beer company in the Caríbbean, and in the restructuring of its joint venture with E. León Jimenes S.A. The transaction, valued at $926.5 million, will expand Ambev’s control over the producer of Presidente while preserving the strategic relationship with the León family group. The acquisition is expected to close in early 2018. Debevoise also assisted Ambev in its original acquisition of a controlling interest in Cervecería Dominicana in 2012.
