Debevoise & Plimpton LLP won two awards at the fifth annual Americas Women in Business Law Awards, presented by Euromoney Legal Media Group. Partner Peggy Davenport was named “Best in Private Equity” and partner Rebecca Silberstein was named “Best in Investment Funds.” According to Euromoney, the 2016 awards celebrate the achievements of “women leading the field in the legal sector across the Americas.”

Ms. Davenport, Co-Chair of the firm’s Corporate Department and former Co-Chair of the Private Equity Group, is one of the leading private equity lawyers in the United States. She has a broad-based transactional practice advising private equity firms, portfolio companies and other corporate clients in structuring and negotiating mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, recapitalizations, financings and other transactions. Ms. Davenport is also Chair of the Debevoise Women’s Task Force and one of the founders of the Debevoise Women's Review.

Ms. Silberstein, Co-Chair of the firm’s Private Equity Group, is an internationally recognized leader in the private fund industry and focuses on advising investment banks, financial institutions and boutique firms as sponsors of a broad range of private funds, including global private equity, leveraged buyout, energy and infrastructure, banking and financial services, mezzanine, credit and distressed debt funds and bespoke fund products and separate accounts.
