Debevoise & Plimpton has advised on a fundraising which has been named “Fundraising of the Year – Large Cap” at the 2015 AVCJ Private Equity and Venture Capital Awards at a ceremony held in Hong Kong.
Baring Asia Private Equity Fund VI, which was heavily oversubscribed, held its third and final close on February 24, 2015 with $3.98 billion in commitments. It is believed to be the largest private equity fund ever raised by an Asia-based manager, and will target companies in Asia, as well as those in Europe and North America with growth plans in Asia, in a broad range of sectors.
The awards were decided through a mixture of votes cast by Asia's PE and VC community, as well as contributions from a panel of industry judges and the AVCJ Editorial Board. They recognize the industry’s most market shaping activity in Asia over the previous year.
Debevoise & Plimpton has been advising Baring Private Equity Asia in its fundraising activities for over ten years, beginning with The Baring Asia Private Equity Fund III.
