Asia-MENA Counsel magazine has recognized Debevoise & Plimpton as advising on one of its 2014 deals of the year: Morgan Stanley Private Equity Asia’s latest fund raising.

In July 2014, Morgan Stanley’s Asia private equity group announced it had raised aggregate commitments of approximately $1.7 billion for Morgan Stanley Private Equity Asia IV, L.P., the firm’s fourth investment vehicle targeting private equity investments in Asia.

The fund-raising is one of the most significant in Asia in the post Volcker era.

The Debevoise team advising Morgan Stanley Private Equity Asia on the fund raising was led by Hong Kong based partner Andrew M. Ostrognai and international counsel Gavin Anderson.
