Jin-Hyuk Jang is an international counsel in Debevoise & Plimpton LLP and a partner in Debevoise & Plimpton Europe S.à r.l. He is a member of the firm’s Funds/Investment Management Group and its Corporate Department and advises sponsors on the structuring of investment funds, covering numerous sectors and strategies, including private equity, real estate, infrastructure, venture capital and credit funds. He is also experienced in regulatory matters and supports clients with questions around managing, advising and marketing private funds. He also has substantial experience in supporting regulated institutional investors with fund investments. He has deep insights into the private fund-related aspects of European financial regulation and can thus offer nuanced advice on a broad range of topics, including investment, insurance and banking regulatory issues. In addition, he advises clients on ESG related regulations, including SFDR and CSRD.
Mr. Jang is recommended for Investment Funds by The Legal 500 Deutschland (2022) and The Legal 500 EMEA (2024), where he is lauded as “very responsive and reliable.” In previous editions of the guide, he has been described as “pragmatic and smart” and “very user-friendly and always available” by his clients. Mr. Jang studied law at the Goethe University in Frankfurt, the University of Milan and the University of Münster. Prior to joining Debevoise in 2017, he was a counsel at a leading German law firm and an associate at a major U.S. law firm in Frankfurt.
Mr. Jang was admitted to the Frankfurt Bar in 2010. He is a native German speaker and fluent in English.
