In light of ever-growing corporate data and document collections, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) becomes increasingly popular whenever such large data volumes need to be reviewed and assessed, e.g. in the course of M&A transactions or compliance proceedings. However, while AI can analyze enormous amounts of data within a relatively short time, the software needs to be carefully trained, monitored, and adjusted.

This article aims to provide a brief overview of the application of AI in the context of large scale data analyses, including resulting opportunities and challenges.
