Before joining Debevoise & Plimpton in 2016, partner John Gleeson served as a federal judge in the Eastern District of New York for 22 years, having been appointed to the bench by President Clinton at the tender age of 40. Reflecting on his rather unconventional career path, Mr. Gleeson recently joined Litigation Daily editor-in-chief Jenna Greene for a special episode of the Legal Speak podcast: “From Federal Judge to Private Practice: Why This Debevoise Partner Left His Ultimate Dream Job.”
The episode hones in on Mr. Gleeson’s transition from the bench to private practice, including why he came to Debevoise and what it’s like to give up the gavel and find another dream job in private practice.
