The U.S. Volcker Rule: Considerations for a ‘Private Funds’ Strategy
In December 2013, the Federal Reserve Board (‘‘FRB’’) and several other related financial industry regulators adopted final regulations implementing the Volcker Rule. U.S. banking organizations and foreign banks with a U.S. banking presence are evaluating their options and developing plans for Volcker Rule compliance, including with respect to interests that they hold in privately offered funds (such as private equity and hedge funds).
