Fifty-One Debevoise Lawyers Named to Inaugural Pro Bono Recognition List of England & Wales

24 June 2024

Fifty-one lawyers from Debevoise & Plimpton LLP’s London office have been included in the inaugural Pro Bono Recognition List of England & Wales.

The list recognizes solicitors and barristers practicing in England & Wales who dedicated 25 hours or more pro bono legal assistance over the last year.

The initiative was set up under the aegis of the Attorney General’s Pro Bono Committee, with support from the Access to Justice Foundation, Advocate, Advocates for International Development, the Law Officers, the Bar Council, the Clinical Legal Education Organisation, the In-House Pro Bono Group, the Law Society, LawWorks, the National Pro Bono Centre and TrustLaw.

The recognition comes after a busy pro bono year for Debevoise’s London team. Amongst other highlights, 2023 saw the office recognized for its work on the Domestic Abuse Response Alliance and the Afghan Pro Bono Initiative.

Since the firm’s founding in 1931, Debevoise’s pro bono work has been central to its culture. The firm focuses on helping underserved and vulnerable communities tackle social problems and solve complex legal issues.
